VTB launched an online bank in Telegram

VTB was the first among Russian banks to launch an online bank in the Telegram messenger. The launch will be phased. At first, customers will be able to check the balance, then make transfers through the SBP, and then payment by QR code and other operations will appear.
“Clients will have access to everyday financial services, and the average time for conducting transactions on them will be halved,” the VTB press service said. By the end of 2023, customers will have access to all the usual banking services, as well as the release of digital products.
The digital bank was created on the basis of the VTB chat bot in Telegram. It is available on all operating systems. To protect customer data, VTB will use 5-factor protection.
“Last year, mobile versions of Russian banks were removed from many app stores. Therefore, the creation of an alternative as close as possible to the online bank has become a strategically important task for us. The implementation of the new digital service in Telegram is a unique development for the Russian and global financial markets, combining convenience and security,” said VTB Board Member Svyatoslav Ostrovsky.
