JSC Vostochnaya Verf is a shipbuilding company founded in 1952, located in Vladivostok. In 1994, the plant was transformed into a joint-stock company. From the 1950s to the 2000s, the enterprise built more than 400 ships for the Navy, border forces and fishing organizations. More than 30 units of military equipment from this enterprise were exported to eight countries of the world, including Vietnam, Iraq and China.
The company’s bankruptcy filing was filed with the Primorsky Territory Arbitration Court on October 13. Later, Inga Sorokina, a public relations consultant for the court, confirmed his admission to RIA Novosti. It is expected that this week the judge will accept the application for proceedings.
As RIA Novosti clarifies, citing a source in the industry, the company’s annual report for 2021 stated a large loss and a lack of funds to pay for its own obligations. The interlocutor of the agency noted that according to the results of last year, the negative assets of the enterprise exceeded several billion rubles. “Preliminarily, work is currently underway only in the field of civil shipbuilding, work on military orders has practically been curtailed. Many workers left in 2022,” he added.
