VK Video has received the rights to broadcast 68 matches of the fourth season of the Winline Media Football League. VK did not disclose the terms and conditions of the agreement. The interlocutor of “Kommersant” in the media market estimated it at the level of 50-70 million rubles. Winline Media Football League (Medialiga) is a Russian football tournament for amateur media teams, founded in 2022 by businessman Nikolai Osipov.

Russian video services are actively filling catalogs with sporting events. In July, Okko and the Zenit basketball club signed a cooperation agreement for the 2023/24 season: the online cinema received the rights to exclusively broadcast the pre-season Kondrashin and Belov Cup, as well as video content about the life of Zenit (see “Kommersant” of June 16). In August, Yandex signed a partnership agreement with the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) for five seasons, starting from the 2023/2024 season, Vedomosti reported.

VK is looking for new content before the full-scale launch of the video platform in September, says Kommersant’s interlocutor in the online cinema market: “But the holding is still focused on the youth direction, unlike video services that follow the traditional path.”

About how video games are offered to rally around VK, read in the material “b”.
