VK became the owner of a quarter of the shares of Tochka JSC – Kommersant

VK Company (MOEX: VKCO) in the fourth quarter of 2023 bought 25% of Tochka JSC (it owns the bank of the same name) for 11.6 billion rubles. Information about this revealed in the published IFRS financial statements for 2023.
Moreover, as follows from the group’s reporting, if as of October 31, 2023, the book value of the group’s investment in this asset was 11.6 billion rubles, then as of December 31, 2023, it was almost 12.2 billion rubles.
Let us recall that in July 2023, the bank of non-core assets “Trust” sold 90.01% of the shares of Tochka JSC for 41.5 billion rubles to its minority shareholder – Catalytic People (9.9%). The sale of the asset was “almost twice as expensive for Trust as it was bought for,” said the head of the bank, Alexander Sokolov.
The owner of the minority company, which planned to consolidate 100% of JSC Tochka, became a “consortium of investors,” including Vladimir Potanin’s Interros holding. It was then noted that a number of technology companies, in particular VK, were also considering participation in the consortium.
Today JSC Tochka reportedthat the “formation of the target structure” has been completed. In addition to VK, the consortium also included the 1C company.
