Vietnam extradites Russian accused of selling drugs to Moscow

The Vietnamese authorities handed over Daniil Kolodnitsky, accused of selling drugs, to Russia. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
On August 11, at the airport of the capital of Vietnam, the Russian was handed over to the employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service and the National Central Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, writes MIA Media. Kolodnitsky was put on the international wanted list in July 2020. A year later, his location was established – the Russian was in Vietnam.
According to investigators, he was a member of a community that was engaged in the distribution of drugs and psychotropic substances through a shop on the Hydra dark web. In total, the criminal group is charged with six crimes. Kolodnitsky participated in its activities from September to November 2018.
“Having satisfied the petition of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the law enforcement agencies of the two states organized the extradition procedure for the wanted man,” Volk specified.
At the end of June, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs confiscated from illegal circulation of more than 240 kg of narcotic drugs, as well as laboratory equipment in the suppression of the activities of organized crime groups, which worked from February 2021 to March 2023 in the Ryazan, Penza, Bryansk, Lipetsk, Tver, Ivanovo and Kostroma regions. According to preliminary data from the department, members of the organized crime group could have committed at least 61 crimes.
