The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) announced the decision of several retailers to limit the markup on all chicken eggs to at least 5%. According to the press service of the department, among them are the Verny retail chain, the Globus hypermarket and the Azbuka Vkusa supermarket.

As reported by the FAS, Verny has limited markups when purchasing goods at tenders, and also intends to similarly limit them under long-term supply contracts. Globus has limited markups to 5% per product in each egg category, the report said. “Azbuka Vkusa” decided to limit markups to 10% for one “Okskoe” egg of category C2. According to Rosstat, the increase in egg prices in November accelerated to 15.1% (in October – 13.1%). Since the beginning of the year, eggs have risen in price by 36.5%, in annual terms – by 40.3%. In November, in 46 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, prices for them increased by 10–20%, in 21 constituent entities – by 20–28.6%.
