The Dutch holding Veon closed the deal to sell VimpelCom, which operates under the Beeline brand, and finally left the Russian market. This is stated in message company press service.
“The deal does not include any buyback agreements and marks Veon’s final exit from the Russian market,” the statement said. It also states that VimpelCom was sold to a group of top managers of the company led by its CEO Alexander Torbakhov.
Veon CEO Kaan Terzioglu noted that exiting the Russian market will allow it to meet demands in markets in Pakistan, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
