Vedomosti: preferential mortgage program will be extended to new regions of Russia

Residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will be able to get a preferential mortgage, they write Vedomosti with reference to an unnamed representative of the Ministry of Finance.
“Since the annexed territories are subjects of the Russian Federation, and their residents are its citizens, the effect of all preferential mortgage programs currently being implemented applies to them in full,” the source said.
Formerly RBC informedthat the Central Bank is consulting with some credit institutions to simplify lending procedures for residents of regions annexed to Russia. It was noted that at present the migration status of these citizens has not been clarified – they do not have a residence permit or a Russian passport.
On the intention to start lending in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions on October 4 informed Promsvyazbank. This is the first Russian bank to open its offices on the territory of the DNR and LNR.
At the end of September, referendums were held in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, following which the regions were included in the Russian Federation. According to the decision of the Constitutional Court, the transitional period for the integration with Russia of four subjects valid until January 1, 2026.
The world community did not recognize the results of the plebiscites. October 12, a record 143 out of 193 UN Member States supported a resolution declaring referendums null and void.
