The widow of the remarkable actor Nikolai Karachentsov assures that after a recent conversation with Varshaver, she was forced to call an ambulance. What really happened between them? Mark Varshaver spoke about this in an exclusive interview with MK.

– This is not true! We’ve all been to the theatre! She left cheerful, satisfied, talked to everyone. She told everyone that Mark Borisovich, such and such, put her in the crowd! On that day, she immediately approached me with a claim. “I will not play in the crowd. I warn you that tomorrow I will not come!” Porgina said. And the truth: she promised – she did, she did not come to the rehearsal. We checked: she took sick leave.

Porgina says in all interviews that she is an actress of the highest category, who is not allowed to play in the crowd. All the time she mentions the great husband, to whom she allegedly promised to return to the stage. Tell me, what does the great Nikolai Karachentsov have to do with her talent? She says that she did not play because Kolya was sick. I would like to ask: “And who would have allowed her to go on stage, even if Kolya was not sick?” Mark Anatolyevich could not stand her and told me: “I beg you, get rid of this monster!”

— Yes you that! Even so?

– Yes. He couldn’t stand her! And when I told him: “Mark Anatolyevich, let’s give her and another wife of our great actor the documents to be awarded the title of Honored Artist,” he answered categorically: “No. Especially Porgina! She does not work! Why give her a title?

– Mark Borisovich, why did they put her in the crowd after all? Couldn’t there have been at least a small role?

She hasn’t been on stage in thirty years! Thirty years! Porgina believes that playing in the crowd is humiliating. I don’t think so. “There are no small roles – there are small artists!” – so said the great Stanislavsky. And I agree with him. I found every opportunity to give her a job in 8 performances! I consulted with colleagues for this. Now we gave her the ninth performance based on the work of Bulgakov, where she also got a role in the crowd. She has lots of work! But instead, she is engaged in squabbles and other bad things that she does! It’s so ugly. She would understand whose wife she is! How can you behave like this! Her son Andrei is ashamed! He says: “I can’t influence her in any way! She does stupid things every minute!”

Porgina is behaving ugly. This is something incredibly simple! Actors in the theater can no longer see her: either she will come red, then red, then with blue hair. And she’s always trying to prove something! But we can prove it only by creativity.
