Singer Burito showed trick with sound in Moscow

The artist presented an immersive show

The sold-out season was recently continued in the form of the presentation of a new concert show by Igor Burnyshev, better known as Burito. For his triumph, the artist chose not the largest hall, accommodating about a thousand people, but he did his best to show the public much more than a club concert.

It can be assumed that many still perceive Igor Burnyshev as one of the members of the Banderos group. He joined the band as a dance director, but lingered for ten years as one of the vocalists, and during this time the group pretty much inherited their hits on various charts.

Burito as a solo project arose even before Banderos, but the start was not very successful, and they decided to freeze the group until better times. In 2015, already as a highly experienced and recognizable artist, Igor rebooted his offspring and took up music much more versatile than was created for Banderos. Since then, four full-length albums and four EPs have been released under the Burito name, the most recent of which, called “Reverse”, was released in early September.

The mini-album, perhaps, is not the biggest reason for its big presentation, so the main focus of the concert was not so much on new songs, but on the way they were presented. Immersive live sound is no longer the newest technology, but the widespread use of such methods is not an easy undertaking, not cheap, and therefore quite rare in the local show business. In a situation where, due to sanctions, a shortage of remotes and microphones is about to begin, as industry participants are already warning about, only the very brave can aim at this kind of high-tech, but Burito and his team still took the risk.

The main difference between an immersive concert and a regular one is the placement of the speakers. There are many of them, and they seem to be everywhere, because of which the sound moves in various directions and the audience experiences the illusion of immersion in its waves. A specially written introduction conveyed to the audience the impressive possibilities of super technology, and the songs themselves, starting with “Ocean”, the first track from the new mini-album, sounded almost like in headphones with a dolby atmos system.

There is, however, one detail that prevents technology from capturing you completely. As is the case with 3D glasses, when you stop seeing all the beauty of the 3D picture around the middle of a 3D movie, the concert sound waves also become less impressive as the action progresses. Still, the predictable desire of the audience to sing along, dance and indulge in cocktails reduces sensitivity to nuances. However, there were no complaints about this, because already at the beginning of the show on the block from “Insomnia”, “From Afar”, “You Know” and Sugar in the stalls, as well as in the VIP, everyone finally let go of their emotions.

It must be admitted that the music of Burito is fertile material for sound technologies. These songs have something to overclock to the fullest. And the artist himself and his band are very seasoned guys who, at least due to their age, musically could “soak” both the eighties and the nineties, which, of course, allows them to serve even purely radio format tracks with different sauces.

On stage, along with Burito, two guitarists, a drummer and a DJ, ready to quite famously mix dance action movies and loud guitar rock, declarations of love to synth-pop and sentimental ballads. Igor himself can hardly be called a super vocalist, but you cannot deny him the ability to pack his abilities in a very advantageous way. Add here a sense of humor and the charisma of a kind of cyber-hippie, and you get a frontman who can rock even those who, by age, should have behaved more calmly.

“I can’t find the words to the next song,” the hero of the party remarks, not without irony, sorting through sheets of paper on the music stand. “I hope they bring my phone.” The audience laughs, the phone is brought, the immersive fun continues. Ladies from time to time invite boyfriends or circle with phones in an attempt to convince their followers how cool they are on vacation. Crazy sparkle in the eyes and dances, which it is better not to remember in the morning, were attached.
