Valio announces rebranding of semi-hard cheeses

Dairy company Valio, after changing its flagship brand, announced a rebranding in the category of semi-hard cheeses, now Oltermanni cheese will be produced under the name Laplandia, reported on the company’s website. It is specified that the product under the new brand will appear in stores in mid-autumn.
The rebranding is connected with the change of the owner of Valio LLC. March 7 Finnish company Valio announced its withdrawal from the Russian market, and at the end of April it sold the Russian business to Velkom, a meat manufacturer. He was allowed to use the Viola brand. It is specified that during the transition period (and it may last until the end of the year), Velcom will be able to produce and sell products under brands that were not included in the deal.
Valio was founded in 1994 in St. Petersburg as the Russian division of the Finnish dairy concern Valio. The Russian division has a plant in the Moscow region and several partner enterprises that produce dairy products. Currently, the Russian assortment is represented by more than 110 items.
