Uzbekistan began sending its citizens to work at AvtoVAZ – Kommersant

The Agency for External Labor Migration of Uzbekistan announced the dispatch of the first batch of citizens of the country to work at the AvtoVAZ plant. The department notes that before this they successfully passed competitions for filling vacancies organized by employers from Russia.
As noted “Prime”, AvtoVAZ representatives previously visited Uzbekistan and held a competitive selection in several cities of the country, including Tashkent. Now residents of the country have begun to move to Tolyatti; at the moment, 500 people have gone to the city. What positions they will occupy at AvtoVAZ is not specified. At the same time, earlier the management of the automaker announced a serious shortage of assembly line workers.
At the Uzbek agency for external labor migration explained, that the Russian companies Stalmost and PEK also expressed interest in hiring migrants from Uzbekistan. For employment at these enterprises, a competitive selection will be held among citizens of Uzbekistan.
