US flights canceled over 1,000 due to winter storms

By this morning, February 22, American airlines canceled more than a thousand flights, the cause was winter storms – frosts with snow, winds and icing. According to the FlightAware service, more than 1.1 thousand flights were canceled. Most of all – about 230 flights – was canceled by Southwest Airlines. Denver and Minneapolis/Saint Paul airports were the hardest hit.
These are yet another massive U.S. flight cancellations due to winter storms this winter. At the end of December, there were a total of canceled more than 20 thousand flights. For Southwest Airlines, which even then canceled the most flights, this led to a loss of $800 million in revenue.
