Production of antibiotics in Russia grew by 50.2% year-on-year

In January 2023, the volume of production of antibiotics in Russia increased by 50.2% year-on-year to 94.8 tons. Such data leads Rosstat. However, compared to December last year, the production of antibiotics, on the contrary, decreased by 19.6%.

Drug production in Russia in January decreased by 1.3% yoy and by 12.3% compared to December, to RUB 44.5 billion. The production of sera and vaccines fell by 5.3% year-on-year and by 21.1% compared to December, to 1 billion doses.

The output of medicines and materials used for medical purposes fell year-on-year by 6.2% and by 14.5% compared to December, the output of provitamins, vitamins and their derivatives amounted to 28.9 tons, 24.7% less than a year year and 34.7% less than a month earlier.
