Uralchem does not exclude the purchase of assets of grain traders leaving Russia – Kommersant

Uralchem is considering various options in connection with the withdrawal of foreign grain traders from Russia. So the press service of the company answered the question “RIA News” about its interest in acquiring the assets of Western agricultural companies.
“We have considered and are considering various options. Our attention to grain traders is due to the importance of ensuring the supply of grain to world markets and supporting food security in a number of regions of the world,” the Uralchem press service said.
Earlier, Kommersant reported that Uralchem had notified Russian President Vladimir Putin of its readiness to buy out the assets of Cargill and Viterra and asked for the consent of the government commission for transactions in December 2022. Vitrerra and Cargill then said that they did not intend to stop working in Russia. In March 2023 Bloomberg informedthat Vitrerra plans to withdraw from Russia. RBC also informedthat Cargill is going to stop exporting Russian grain.
