United Shipbuilding Corporation returns to Moscow

The management company of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), which recently came under the control of VTB Bank, is considering a move to the capital from St. Petersburg and a radical reduction in administrative staff. Vedomosti was told about this by five sources at various shipbuilding enterprises and USC customer companies.

USC will most likely be located in Moscow not in the Legion II business center, where it has worked since 2016, but in one of the offices in Moscow City, sources believe. Vedomosti’s interlocutors do not know whether the company will move to office space owned by VTB (in the Federation Tower) or rent space from third-party landlords. A source close to USC adds that this makes sense: after the move, the corporation would operate within walking distance from the offices of both VTB and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. “Bankers are cutting costs and improving controllability,” states an interlocutor close to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
