Uniper is waiting for a court decision on the lawsuit against Gazprom not earlier than 2024

The German energy company Uniper is not awaiting an arbitration decision with “Gazprom exports” until 2024, said the head of the company, Michael Lewis.
“The court decision is not expected until next year,” he said (quote according to TASS).
Lewis also added that he does not count on the resumption of Russian gas supplies.
In November last year, Uniper filed a lawsuit with the Arbitration Tribunal in Stockholm demanding that Gazprom Export (a subsidiary of Gazprom) recover damages in the amount of 11.6 billion euros for gas not supplied since June. The company, as noted then, expects to recover losses on gas volumes that were agreed with Gazprom under the contract, but were not delivered.
According to reports, the energy company entered into long-term contracts for the supply of about 37 billion cubic meters. m of gas, of which about 20 billion cubic meters. m accounted for Russia. As a result, these volumes were acquired by Uniper at “extremely high market prices”. At the same time, the Gazprom press service denied Uniper’s accusations of violating the terms of the contract. Later in December the German authorities nationalized Uniper.
In April of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree transferring 83.73% of the shares of the energy company Unipro owned by Uniper, as well as 98% of the shares of the energy company Fortum (owned by the Finnish Fortum) to the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency.
