UN again buys food for Ethiopia and Yemen in Ukraine

The UN World Food Program has resumed the purchase of wheat in Ukraine for countries experiencing famine. Food will be sent, including to Yemen and Ethiopia. This was announced by the UN Resident Coordinator at the Special Coordination Center (SCC) in Istanbul, Amir Mahmoud Abdullah, TASS reports.
July 22 Russia and Ukraine with the participation of the UN agreed on the export of grain from three Ukrainian ports. Turkey pledged to control the delivery of goods and inspect ships. For this, the SKC was created, which includes representatives from all three countries. In August the UN rented ship to deliver wheat from Ukraine to Ethiopia.
By data UN, more than 190 million people in the world experience severe food insecurity. Military operations in Ukraine led to rising food prices. The UN also spokethat other countries in need began to receive less assistance.
