The payment for the transit of Russian oil sent to Ukraine by Transneft was received by the Ukrainian side, now the Russian company can start pumping oil towards the Czech Republic. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the adviser to the president of the company Igor Demin.
Anton Molnar, a spokesman for the Bratislava refinery Slovnaft, also told RIA Novosti that one of the European banks reviewed the blocked payment for oil transit through Ukraine and accepted it.
August 9 became known on the termination by the Ukrainian oil company Ukrtransnafta of pumping oil through the southern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline system to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia from August 4. Transneft explained this by the inability to pay for transit services due to sanctions.
Deliveries to Slovakia and Hungary resumed from August 10 after payment for transit by the Slovak company Slovnaft and the Hungarian MOL. The Czech Republic expected to receive raw materials no later than August 13. Transneft today said that the payment for the transit of oil to the Czech Republic was received by the recipient’s bank. Thus, Ukraine could receive two payments at once – from Transneft and from the Slovak and Hungarian companies.
