Uber reported last night that it was the subject of a hacker attack, the extent of which is yet to be ascertained. According to mass media, attackers could penetrate the Uber internal communication system, gaining access to correspondence, email addresses of employees and cloud data. It is reported that the message about the hacker attack was posted by the hacker himself in the service channel of the Slack corporate messenger used by Uber.

Uber employees are instructed not to use internal communications systems while an internal investigation and work is being done to eliminate the hack. According to unofficial information, the hackers received a password to access the internal system from one of the company’s employees. It is not yet known whether the password was obtained fraudulently, hacked into the computer, or the employee passed it on purpose. About any requirements of crackers it is not reported.
