Twitter cut dozens more employees

At Twitter, at least 50 more employees have been made redundant, marking at least the eighth round of layoffs at the company since Elon Musk acquired it in late October. According to sources familiar with the publication The Informationthe reductions primarily affected project teams, including those that provide support for advertising technologies, the Twitter application and the technical infrastructure of the company as a whole.
Given the cuts started by Elon Musk in november 2022, after the purchase of Twitter for $44 billion, the company’s staff has already decreased by about 70% and now stands at about 2 thousand people. According to The Information sources, the latest round of cuts is intended to address the problem of a sharp drop in the company’s revenue. Twitter itself did not respond to a Reuters request for comment on the new cuts.
