The trading volume on the Moscow Exchange markets in September 2023 amounted to 124.1 trillion rubles. Compared to September last year, the figure increased by 67%. The Moscow Exchange derivatives market grew by 87.5%, and the volume of transactions on the precious metals market increased by 3.8 times.
As noted in the Moscow Exchange release, all exchange trading markets showed positive results: trading volume on the stock market increased by 85%, on the foreign exchange market by 65.1%, on the money market by 63.1%, and on the bond market by 21.7%. Trading volume on the stock market in September increased by 58.7% to RUB 3.978 trillion. The volume of trading in shares, depositary receipts and units increased by 85% to RUB 2.713 trillion, and the volume of bond trading increased by 21.7% to RUB 1.265 trillion.
In September, 77 bond issues worth 2.866 trillion rubles were placed on the Moscow Exchange, including overnight bonds in the amount of 2.451 trillion rubles. Trading volume on the derivatives market increased by 87.5% to RUB 8.9 trillion. On the foreign exchange market, trading volume increased by 65.1% to RUB 32.2 trillion. The volume of transactions in spot instruments increased by 27.9%, to RUB 10.2 trillion. The volume of swaps and forwards transactions is up to 22 trillion rubles.
Trading volume on the Moscow Exchange money market increased by 63.1%, reaching RUB 76.5 trillion. The volume of repo transactions with the central counterparty increased by 53.4% to RUB 35.4 trillion, while the volume of repo transactions with clearing participation certificates increased by 151.9% to RUB 26 trillion. The volume of trading in precious metals (spot and swap) increased 3.8 times, to 49.9 billion rubles, including 49 billion rubles. for gold (8.3 tons) and 0.9 billion rubles. for silver (12.2 tons).
