Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said that in the first quarter of 2023, the Russian tourist flow abroad increased by 47% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 2 million trips. According to the minister, most often Russians travel to countries they know “with a developed tourist infrastructure.”
“If in 2022 Russian tourists made about 7 million foreign trips, then in the first quarter of 2023, Russians traveled abroad for tourism purposes about 2 million times. This is almost 47% more than in the same period last year,” Mr. Reshetnikov said during the round table, his words are quoted press office Ministry of Economy.
According to the agency, in the first quarter of 2023, the number of trips to Turkey increased by 71%, to the UAE – by 88%, to Thailand – 12 times (due to the resumption of direct flights). From the data of the FSB Border Service, it follows that in 2021, Russians made 21.4 million foreign trips, in 2020 – 14.1 million.
