The assets of Group-IB cybersecurity company in Russia were bought out by Russian shareholders, and the company began operating in the country under the FAC.С.T brand. (Fight Against Cybercrime Technologies). About it says in a press release from FAC.C.T.
“As part of the further diversification of the business, the Russian assets of Group-IB, one of the leading international cybersecurity companies, were bought out by local shareholders and top management <...> Business development will continue under a new brand – FAC.C.T. In the future, Group-IB will be represented only on the international market,” the press service said.
Group-IB is a cybersecurity development company. It opened its headquarters in Singapore in 2018, but most of its products are developed in Russia.
In FAC.C.T. noted that the company will continue to “provide cybersecurity services in the same volume and create high-tech solutions to prevent cyberattacks”, etc. Valery Baulin, who since July 2022 served as Regional Director of Group-IB, became the head. The representative office did not disclose the amount of the transaction.
The creation of an autonomous structure focused on the market of Russia and the CIS began last summer, the press service said. Then the co-founder and CEO of Group-IB Dmitry Volkov sold his stake to Baulin, and also left the shareholders.
At the press office reported TASS that now 37.5% of the shares will belong to the founder of Group-IB Ilya Sachkov (accused of treason, has been in custody since the fall of 2021), 25% – to the Altera Capital investment company, 15% – to Alexei Kozyrev, 12.5 % – to Cyberinvest, and 10% – to Baulin.
