Russia requires Rosselkhozbank to connect to SWIFT to extend the grain deal.

The interlocutor of the Russian state agency said that “various options are being discussed” on this issue and that the UN Secretary General and Turkey are making active efforts. The grain deal, concluded in the summer of 2022 between the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the UN and Turkey, involves the opening of ports in Ukraine for the export of agricultural products and the removal of obstacles to the export of Russian food and fertilizers. Moscow has repeatedly criticized the implementation of the part of the deal that concerns its exports.

Russia last week extended deal without changes, but promised to stop its implementation after July 17 if Moscow’s demands are not met. Among them is the reconnection of Rosselkhozbank to SWIFT.
