In 2022, the number of purchases by Russians on marketplaces increased by 43% in annual terms. Marketplaces accounted for 8.5% of all online and offline spending by Russians, which is 1.5 times more than in 2021. Kommersant was informed about this in the press service of Tinkoff eCommerce and Tinkoff Data.

According to them, Russians spent the most money during the sales season in November: it accounted for 12% of all payments on trading floors. Wildberries became the most popular marketplace — the number of transactions in November there doubled compared to 2021.

The average check for one purchase at the end of the year amounted to about 2 thousand rubles, which is 3% less than in 2021. The average purchase amount on Yandex.Market amounted to 4.8 thousand rubles (+21% in annual terms), on Lamoda – 6 thousand rubles. (+5%).

Wildberries became the most popular platform for online sellers — 60% of sellers trade on it. Another 25% of sellers use Ozon, 8% – Yandex.Market, about 3% – KazanExpress, 1% – Aliexpress. In just a year, the number of sellers on marketplaces increased by 1.5 times. Analysts note that entrepreneurs are increasingly trading on several platforms at once – about 20% of sellers use two or more marketplaces.

According to Gazinformservice, in 2022, about 15–20% of companies that sold goods through their own websites abandoned this channel and switched to marketplaces. Some experts believe that the share of such sellers can reach up to 30%.
