The World Court in Moscow fined 10 million rubles. Match Group, which owns the dating site Tinder, for repeatedly refusing to localize the personal data of Russians in the Russian Federation. The decision was issued by the justice of the peace of the judicial district No. 422 of the Tagansky district, the press service of the court reported.
According to his decision, Match Group was found guilty under Part 9 of Art. 13.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (repeated failure by the operator, when collecting personal data, of the obligation to ensure the storage of personal data of citizens of the Russian Federation using databases located on the territory of the Russian Federation).
In July 2022, the court fined Match Group for another 2 million rubles. for refusing to localize the data of the Russians. Tinder stopped working in Russia on June 30, 2023. Back in May, Roskomnadzor sent a letter to the service demanding to comply with the law on personal data, and a protocol was drawn up because of its implementation.
