They plan to open an Islamic banking development center in Tatarstan, where specialists from Malaysia will train and advise bankers. They write about it “Vedomosti”.
According to the head of the Unified Banking Technologies company, Abduvoris Kalandarov, the opening of the center was discussed during the trip of a government delegation from Tatarstan to Malaysia at the end of October. This discussion is due to the lack of the required number of specialists in Russia with experience in Islamic banking.
The future center will provide advice in the field of taxation, accounting and product creation, taking into account the specifics of the legislation of the Russian Federation and experience in partnership financing.
Let us recall that the law on conducting an experiment on the introduction of Islamic banking was signed by the head of state Vladimir Putin in August 2023. In addition to Tatarstan, Bashkiria, Dagestan and Chechnya are taking part in this project. The experiment started in September and will end on September 1, 2025.
About the prospects and features of Islamic banking – interview Senior Vice President of Sberbank Oleg Ganeev.
