Theater venues in the two capitals open New Year’s shows. As Kommersant FM found out, there are no tickets for the most high-profile Moscow productions until the end of the January holidays. But in St. Petersburg there are still options for open sale. The audience will be shown “The Snow Queen”, “Cinderella”, “Tales of Pushkin”, “Tales of Hoffmann”. But in addition to New Year’s performances, the repertoire also includes classics. Among them is a rare production of Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde. The theater poster for December was studied by Aelita Kurmukova.

Passions for the Nutcracker have gripped both capitals this year. Concierge services, in an interview with Kommersant FM, stated that they do not remember such a stir in almost 20 years of work. Customers ordered Large rows. The official price of tickets for pre-New Year shows, which are practically impossible to get, is 1.5-20 thousand rubles. Resellers have 80 thousand rubles, but on the ground.

The Mariinsky Theater will be the first to present the sensational ballet on December 11, and in two versions at once – staged by Vasily Vainonen and Mikhail Shemyakin. Tickets cost from 4 thousand rubles. up to 15 thousand rubles. and is still available for public sale.

Moscow will pick up the New Year’s fairy tale on December 23. On this day, “The Nutcracker” will be shown both at the Bolshoi and at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theater. And you can still get to the last one. Ticket price – 6.5 thousand rubles. At the same time, another version of the ballet is in the top requests, shares Kirill Ryabkov, marketing director of Konsierge:

“The Nutcracker” staged by Nikolai Tsiskaridze, which will be shown at the Bolshoi Drama Theater in St. Petersburg. It should be very interesting – clients fly, drive. Somewhere there are exits, somewhere we buy out quotas in advance. We always look at the statistics on our CRM system: what happened last year, how it can be predicted now. The price tag for modern productions has increased by about one and a half times. If we are talking about ballet, then almost twice as much.”

But there are practically no special theatrical flights to Europe, as there were before, adds Ryabkov. And most of the requests are now coming in for “Don Carlos” with Anna Netrebko on the stage of La Scala on December 7. By the way, December is the most popular month for musical theaters, says Sergei Khodnev, head of the Kommersant culture department. And both capitals will show many outstanding productions, he emphasizes:

“Of the musical performances in December, I would like to mention Wagner’s opera Tristan and Isolde, conducted by the British conductor Ian Latham-Koenig, which will be shown on December 17 at the New Opera Theater.

At the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theatre, they turn to operetta; they have a performance of the best different works of this genre, “Winter Evening in Chamonix”. Many Moscow viewers may also be interested in the St. Petersburg poster. There is, for example, the opera “Don Carlos” by Giuseppe Verdi, in which the main female role will be sung by Khibla Gerzmava.”

Fashionable drama venues are virtually unavailable in December. The Theater on Bronnaya, for example, has completely sold out all five upcoming (premiere) performances of Konstantin Bogomolov’s “Summer Residents in Bali.” And at the Theater of Nations on New Year’s Eve you can still catch Pushkin’s Fairy Tales. This year, due to high demand, there are difficulties with tickets for other productions, notes theater observer Elena Churaeva:

“If you are ready to spend five hours in the theater, visit the theater buffet twice, then “War and Peace” is an amazing performance that has been on the stage of the Vakhtangov Theater for three years with great success.

At the Fomenko Theater – “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, which received the “Golden Mask”. This is a theater hit, which is also not easy to get into. If everyone has watched or loves a completely unusual theater, unlike anything else, choose any performance by Yuri Butusov. Among the brightest are “The Son” on the RAMT stage and “King Lear” on the Vakhtangov stage.”

Theaters today collect the main box office and remain the leading player in the Moscow entertainment market. Exhibitions follow. The average cost of tickets remaining on sale for December starts from 3-4 thousand rubles.
