The volume of agreements concluded at SPIEF amounted to more than 3.8 trillion rubles

Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) concluded agreements for a total amount of 3.86 trillion rubles, said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of Russia, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the preparation of the forum.

“More than 900 agreements were signed at the forum for a total amount of almost 4 trillion rubles: 3.86 trillion rubles, including 43 agreements with representatives of foreign companies,” Kobyakov said at a press conference (quote according to TASS).

SPIEF runs from 14 to 17 June. The main theme of the forum was “Sovereign development is the basis of a just world. Let’s join forces for the sake of future generations.” The events were attended by delegations from more than 15 countries, including the leaders of a number of states.

On June 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the plenary session together with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmajid Tebbun. In his speech, the president assessed the state of the economy and gave a number of instructions. The session itself lasted almost three hours.

In particular, the President declaredthat entrepreneurs need to focus on investing in the development of Russian business. Putin also called unacceptable the situation when funds are earned in Russia and then deposited in foreign accounts. According to the head of state, this situation carries risks not only for the Russian economy, but also for the business itself.

Today, June 17, Putin will receive the leaders of a number of African states in St. Petersburg. They must submit their proposals for the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. A day earlier, this delegation, headed by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, visited Kiev, where they presented proposals for a peaceful settlement to the Ukrainian leadership.
