The Ural company is trying to force Ericsson to service equipment through the court

The Ekaterinburg-2000 company, which provides cellular communication services under the Motiv brand, filed a lawsuit against the Russian subsidiary of the Swedish equipment manufacturer Ericsson. The company is trying to challenge Ericsson’s refusal to execute the contract due to EU sanctions. This was reported RBC with reference to the file of the arbitration court.

As follows from the card data, the Moscow Arbitration Court at the end of April appointed the case for consideration. The first meeting will take place in early July.

“Ericsson, referring to European sanctions, unilaterally refused to fulfill the agreement,” a Yekaterinburg-2000 representative commented to RBC. He did not give details of the case. According to him, the company used Ericsson equipment to build communication networks.

In turn, Ericsson, in a conversation with RBC, said that the company had fully completed its work in Russia at the end of 2022. The legal entity in Russia is registered in Russia to complete the administrative requirements, several employees are employed there.

The Swedish Ericsson has announced a halt in deliveries to Russia after the start of the Russian operation in Ukraine. In mid-spring, the company suspended business in the country and sent employees on paid leave. In August, Ericsson began laying off Russian employees and announced plans to permanently leave Russia before the end of 2022. The company also received a license to service existing contracts until the end of 2022.

The Russian legal entity of Ericsson “Eriksson Corporation” still exists. In 2022, its revenue fell by 42.2% compared to 2021, to RUB 2.86 billion. Its net loss amounted to 2.35 billion rubles. against a net profit of 533.6 million in 2021.

In early May, Kommersant found in the Unified Register of Certificates of Conformity and Declarations of Conformity that on April 20, Makscomm LLC declared 20 thousand multi-standard transceiver base communication stations manufactured by Ericsson AB for import into the Russian Federation. According to experts, the cost of the party could be $30-40 million.
