The head of the state corporation Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, said that the state corporation is completing tests of the PD-8 engine for the Sukhoi Superjet New aircraft. According to him, his certification is also ending. He also stated that serial production of the Sukhoi Superjet New will begin in 2024.
“The plane is already with our engine, completely with our avionics, with our units and, most importantly, with our – completely – fuselage. Almost nothing is imported there. We are already completing the certification. And we will start mass production in 2024. We will produce 20 Superjet New aircraft every year,” said Sergey Chemezov at meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Mr. Chemezov added that Rostec is also completing the certification of the MS-21 aircraft with the Russian PD-14 engine. In 2024, the first six aircraft of this series will be produced. He also announced the creation of the Mi-171A3 helicopter to work on drilling rigs, which will be able to land on water if necessary. According to him, Gazprom, Rosneft, as well as companies from Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are interested in the helicopter.
Sergey Chemezov also said that Rostec is building new hangars at the Kazan Aviation Plant. By 2025, 10 cars a year will be produced there.
