The Union of Theater Workers announced the winners of the Golden Mask 2023 special award

Tovstonogov Bolshoi Theater actress Svetlana Kryuchkova and soloist of the Bolshoi Opera Company Makvala Kasrashvili became laureates of the Golden Mask special award – “For outstanding contribution to the development of theatrical art – 2023”. The laureates included:
- Vocalist of the Moscow State Academic Operetta Theater Svetlana Varguzova;
- vocalist of the Moscow State Academic Operetta Theater Yuri Vedeneev;
- ballet soloist and choreographer, teacher-repetiteur of the ballet troupe of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater (SABT) of Russia Marina Kondratieva;
- theater artist, teacher, associate professor of the department of scenography at GITIS Viktor Arkhipov;
- theater director and teacher, head of the acting and directing department of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts Veniamin Filshtinsky;
- actor of the Krasnodar State Academic Drama Theater. Gorky Anatoly Gorgul;
- actor, director, teacher, artistic director of the Studio Theater of the Vladimir Academic Regional Drama Theater Nikolai Gorokhov;
- actress of the Irkutsk Academic Drama Theater. Okhlopkova Natalia Koroleva.
The Union of Theater Workers established the Golden Mask Award in 1993. It is awarded for the best works of the season in all types of theatrical art – from drama to puppet theater. Other non-competitive Golden Mask awards include For Supporting the Theatrical Art of Russia, Best Foreign Performance Shown in Russia, as well as the Jury Prize and the Theater Journalists and Critics Prize.
