The Supervisory Board of Alrosa will consider the candidacy of Marinychev for the post of CEO

Supervisory Board of the Russian diamond mining company “Alrosa“will consider the candidacy of the former first deputy chairman of the government of Yakutia and the current head of the Almazy Anabary enterprise Pavel Marinychev for the post of general director. This was reported in the press service of the company.

“In connection with the planned departure from this position of Sergey Sergeevich Ivanov, the candidacy of Pavel Alekseevich Marinychev will soon be submitted to the decision of the Supervisory Board of the company in order to maintain continuity in the implementation of the strategy and long-term development program of Alrosa,” the message says.

Earlier that Marinychev could head Alrosa, citing sources informed Interfax. According to him, this issue has already been resolved. As another source of the agency noted, the document on the election of Marinychev has already been prepared, but so far there is no information about its signing.

The Alrosa company has been headed by Sergey Ivanov since March 2017. The first contract with him was signed for three years. In 2020, he was re-elected for a new five-year term. In December 2022 RBC reported that he had decided to leave the company ahead of schedule, as he could move to Gennady Timchenko’s Volga Group. The company clarified that he would retain his post on the Supervisory Board of Alrosa and would advise shareholders and management on the company’s development strategy.

Marinychev was born in 1978. For several years he worked at the Regional Energy Commission of the Republic of Sakha. Then he moved to the post of Deputy General Director of Sakhatransneftegaz. In 2010, by presidential decree, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic. “Daughter” of “Alrosa” – “Diamonds of Anabara” – he headed in 2016.
