The Stolypin Institute recorded the transition of business to a moderate recovery

Business in Russia has moved to a state of “moderate recovery”. About it informed RBC with reference to the index of the state of business and the economy of the Institute for Growth Economics. Stolypin, which is based on the answers of entrepreneurs to 29 questions. Each answer is assigned a score from 20 to 80. An index value below 50 indicates a recession in the economy and business conditions.
According to the results of the first quarter, the total value of the index was 51.18. This indicator indicates the transition to a phase of moderate growth from stagnation. It is impossible to trace the dynamics, since the index was calculated for the first time.
It is specified that most economic indicators are in the positive zone. In particular, respondents noted an increase in investments over the past year, an increase in demand and an increase in the profitability of enterprises.
In the negative zone, there are answers in terms of costs. 57.6% of respondents noted their growth compared to the first quarter of 2022, while only 13.4% indicated a decrease. In addition, entrepreneurs paid attention to the growing tax burden and the persistence of the administrative burden, as well as expensive loans.
Former Russian President Vladimir Putin recommended The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) to prepare proposals by June 1 to reduce the burden on business.
