“As far as I know, this document (about the experiment on the remote sale of alcohol – ed.) was removed from consideration. It was supposed to be considered on Tuesday, but it is not on the agenda. For how long they removed it, I don’t know, ”he said.
According to a RIA Novosti source, the postponement of consideration of the bill may be due to the dissatisfaction of other marketplaces with the fact that such an opportunity is provided only to Russian Post.
The experiment was supposed to start on November 1, 2023 and last until July 31, 2026. It was assumed that through a subsection on the Russian Post website, a person would be able to buy still, sparkling and fortified wine made from grapes grown in Russia. Delivery is possible no earlier than 24 hours after ordering. Only adults will be able to buy wine by presenting an identity card.
In April the government approved a draft law on launching an experiment on the online sale of domestic wine through the Russian Post. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is calling for online liquor law to be enacted without waiting for the outcome of this experiment.
