Deputies and senators introduced a bill to the State Duma that would allow advertising on space infrastructure facilities and space technology. The document is already published in the State Duma database.

The authors of the document indicate that, according to Roscosmos research, large Russian banks and insurance companies are already interested in advertising on space technology. Roscosmos estimated the potential income from advertising on equipment, taking into account the current strategic documents on space activities, at 200 million rubles. annually, as well as 5 million rubles. annually – from the installation of advertising on infrastructure facilities.

Roscosmos will conclude contracts for the supply of advertising. Profits will be transferred in equal parts to the federal budget, and also as a contribution to the formation of special reserve funds of Roscosmos.

The authors of the bill believe that such advertising will popularize the space industry. The explanatory note states that the income received will be targeted towards the development of innovative space programs and projects.

The head of the launch vehicles department at the Progress Rocket and Space Center, which produces rockets for Roscosmos and the Ministry of Defense, said that work is already underway to obtain the right to conclude contracts for advertising on rockets. According to a Progress employee, there are agreed upon areas on the rockets that can be designated for commerce.
