The head part of the Soyuz-2.1b rocket as part of the Fregat upper stage and the Arktika-M hydrometeorological satellite successfully separated from the third stage. This was reported by press service “Roscosmos”.
The rocket launch took place today, December 16, at 12:17 Moscow time from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The launch took place as usual, the upper stage separated from the third stage of the rocket and placed the satellite into a given orbit. The total flight time will be four and a half hours.
It is noted that this is the 17th launch of the Soyuz-2.1b rocket and the 9th launch from the Baikonur site this year. The Arktika-M No. 2 spacecraft is designed to assess the hydrometeorological situation in the Arctic region and nearby territories.
