The service life of three power units of Zaporozhye NPP will be extended

At Zaporozhye NPP this year, repair work will begin to extend the life of three power units, informed official Telegram channel of the station.
“The stations are going to have big changes. Already this year, work should begin on both the repair campaign and the extension of the operating life of power units No. 1, 2 and 6,” the report says.
These works will be carried out in conditions of active integration of nuclear power plants into the Russian legal field in accordance with the requirements of Rostekhnadzor, therefore, ZNPP requires specialists from Russian plants built according to projects similar to ZNPP, they added.
Russia has controlled the Zaporozhye NPP since the end of February 2022, since then the plant and the city of Energodar, in which it is located, have been subjected to regular shelling from Ukraine. In early October, after the Zaporozhye region became part of Russia, Putin instructed to take the plant facilities into federal ownership and create the Zaporozhye NPP Federal State Unitary Enterprise to ensure the safety of nuclear facilities.
The situation at the ZNPP remains tense due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, declared January 12, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
