Russia may begin development of super-heavy transport aircraft

Ilyushin’s prospects are connected with the development of a line of heavy and super-heavy transport aircraft,” said Mr. Yarkovoy.
The report also notes that over the 90 years of the existence of the Aviation Complex named after S. V. Ilyushin, the enterprise has developed more than 200 and created more than 120 types of aircraft of various modifications.
To date, on the basis of the aviation complex, competences have been collected for the design of aircraft of various sizes and purposes. It says in the message. The main projects are the Il-76MD-90A heavy military transport aircraft, the Il-78M-90A tanker based on it, and in the field of civil aviation, the Il-96-300, Il-96-400M wide-body long-haul aircraft and the regional Il-114- 300.
The Aviation Complex named after S. V. Ilyushin was founded on January 13, 1933, and is one of the leading enterprises in Russia in the development of aviation technology. Included to the list of 11 sanctioned Russian companies with which the United States allowed to conduct export and re-export operations in the field of civil aviation.
