The Russian division of the Swiss pet food manufacturer Nestle informed its partners of an increase in prices for its goods by up to 12%. The price increase will affect the brands Gourmet, Darling, Felix, Purina One and Pro Plan, writes RBC with reference to sources.
According to copies of letters from Nestlé Purina PetCare, dry and wet food prices will change from February 5, 2024. The price increase also applies to dietary veterinary feed and the dry feed additive Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diet Fortiflora, RBC notes.
Purina One, Gourmet and Darling food will rise in price in wholesale trade by 4%, Felix dry cat food – by 6.4-8%, Purina One food – by 1-10%. The cost of Pro Plan dry food will increase by 1-10%, wet food – up to 1.5%. The brand’s veterinary dry food for cats will rise in price by 4-12%, and wet food by 9.7%. The same line of dog food in dry form will increase in price by up to 10%, in wet form – by 7%.
Nestle explains the increase in feed prices by an 11-25% increase in purchase prices for raw materials. In particular, the letters refer to the increased cost of chicken, meat and fish ingredients and their derivatives. In addition, the company argues that prices are rising with the weakening of the ruble.
