The Russian National Orchestra opens the season on October 3 and 4

On October 3, the Russian National Orchestra will open a season ticket “Great Instrumental Concerts” in the Philharmonic Concert Hall named after S.V. Rachmaninov (Philharmonia-2) in the evening with the participation of outstanding domestic soloists, laureates of international competitions violinist Pavel Milyukov and cellist Alexander Knyazev.

The program included classical works created for an ensemble of two string instruments and a symphony orchestra. Since its premiere in 1887, Johannes Brahms’ Concerto for Violin, Cello and Orchestra has remained one of the most popular works, universally performed on the world’s leading stages. The double concert of the English classic of the last century, Benjamin Britten, on the contrary, is not so often found in posters, and has a reputation as a true philharmonic rarity. Originally created for violin and viola, this evening it will be presented in a version for violin and cello. The program will be complemented by Britten’s Simple Symphony, one of the composer’s early opuses, written during the search for his own style.

The next day, The 4th of October, the program of the famous double concerts will be presented in the P.I. Tchaikovsky. As in the previous evening at the Philharmonic-2, the audience will hear the most popular concerto for violin and cello and orchestra in A minor by Johannes Brahms and the version for violin and cello of Benjamin Britten’s double concerto, the performance of which promises to be a real discovery for even the most sophisticated music lovers. . This evening there will also be a concerto symphony written by Mozart for violin and viola. The transcription of this work for cello Alexander Knyazev included in his repertoire and now regularly performs on the leading domestic and world stages. As in the Philharmonic-2, the Russian National Orchestra will be conducted by Mikhail Tatarnikov, a longtime stage partner of the orchestra.
