Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the government to provide support measures for the development of small and medium-sized businesses (SME). He stated this at the plenary session of the SPIEF.
“The task is to support development, remove barriers that prevent businesses from gaining strength, expanding, and creating new jobs. The best way here is to help create the conditions for a smooth and easy transition to another category of business,” the president said.
He asked the government to submit proposals for such support measures early next year. “Including the launch of a grace period for taxation,” the head of state added.

In addition, the authorities obligated state-owned companies to carry out 25% of purchases from small companies, reducing the payment period to seven days and increasing the advance payment to 50%. As a result, the volume of purchases of state-owned companies from small and medium-sized businesses, according to the Cabinet of Ministers, has almost doubled in three years and exceeded 7 trillion rubles.
