The Russian Federation is developing contacts with foreign partners to fight corruption – Kommersant

Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said that Russia continues to actively cooperate with international organizations in the fight against corruption, despite “current geopolitical events.” As an example in an interview RT Mr. Krasnov pointed to work with colleagues from Kazakhstan and Belarus, as well as China.

According to Igor Krasnov, Russia uses modern methods of exchanging information about corruption. “We pay special attention to interaction with the Interstate Anti-Corruption Council, operating within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the next meeting of which took place in July this year in Yekaterinburg,” the Prosecutor General noted.

Mr. Krasnov pointed out that in cases requiring a prompt response, the platform of the Global Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies, as well as a specially developed communication platform, are effectively used. “For example, with her help, from colleagues from Kazakhstan, we quickly received the necessary materials as part of an anti-corruption audit against a former civil servant who was fired due to loss of trust and brought to criminal liability for accepting bribes,” he explained.

Igor Krasnov also said that while working with Belarusian colleagues, it was possible to establish that representatives of two Russian companies, in order to develop business and expand supplies, regularly transferred bribes to officials in Belarus. As a result of the exchange of information, agencies from Russia and Belarus managed to bring offenders to justice, he emphasized.

Russia’s membership in the International Financial Action Task Force (FATF) was suspended from February 24, 2022. In October 2023, the suspension of Rosfinmonitoring’s membership also announced international group “Egmont”, which unites financial intelligence services of 166 countries.
