The company explained that the landing gear is replaced every ten years or every 20,000 flight cycles. The work was carried out on the basis of the hangar complex at the Sheremetyevo airport.
“The whole range of work was completed within two weeks in strict accordance with the manual for the technical operation of the aircraft. A complete set of new struts was installed on the aircraft: a bow strut and two main struts.
All control tests confirmed the regular operation of the landing gear and landing gear retraction system, the aircraft returned to flight operations, Aeroflot added.
Against the backdrop of the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, Western countries have imposed sanctions against the Russian aviation industry, including a complete ban on the supply of aircraft (including Boeing and Airbus aircraft) and components. Aircraft insurance and maintenance were also banned, and foreign leasing companies began to recall aircraft already delivered.
In February, the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko saidthat the restrictions did not affect flight safety in the Russian Federation. According to him, Russian airlines will be able to use Western aircraft, provided that work is carried out to maintain their airworthiness until 2030. At the end of March, Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev announced that more than 200 technical organizations were operating in Russia and that serve 80 aircraft simultaneously. Thanks to this, air transport service is possible without downtime and long queues, Savelyev added.
