Over the year, books have risen in price by 15–20%, by the end of 2023 their prices will increase by another 15%. About this Izvestia reported in the Russian Book Union and in publishing houses.

The RKS explained what was happening with the rise in price of the paper. Most of it has to be bought abroad. At the same time, if a year ago, supplies were from Europe, today they are from China and Asia, which increases the cost of logistics.

According to the president of the Eksmo-AST publishing group, Oleg Novikov, the rise in prices is due to an increase in the cost of books in 2022 by 30% due to a shortage of paper and changes in the exchange rate. Retail prices were held back on the market, but they still rose by 15-20%.
