The prosecutor’s office will check Wildberries due to the sale of vapes

The Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office will check the Wildberries marketplace for the sale of vapes there. This is stated in the response of the Prosecutor General’s Office to State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev (United Russia), which is available to Vedomosti.
“In order to increase the speed of response, the prosecutor of the Moscow region has been instructed to organize an appropriate inspection and inform you of the results,” the message says.
At the end of September, Khamzaev, deputy head of the inter-factional working group on protecting the health of citizens from alcohol, tobacco and drug threats, appealed to the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov with a request to conduct an inspection of the largest Russian marketplace Wildberries for the sale of vapes.
Despite the ban on products, “smoking devices and liquids are presented in large quantities” on the site, the deputy noted. Then a representative of Wildberries said that the sale of such products was contrary to the rules of the site. If unscrupulous sellers offer it by changing the names of such goods in the cards, it is promptly removed from the site, the representative office stated.
According to the deputy, the uncontrolled sale of vapes through an online store leads to the fact that such goods are purchased by minors. In April, the State Duma adopted a law banning the sale of vaping liquids.
The final version of the adopted law states that the government has the right to create a “list of substances and additives”, the addition of which will make the sale of vapes impossible. The authors of the law were State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, as well as leaders and representatives of all factions – more than 400 deputies.
