The plant of the S8 Capital holding in St. Petersburg, previously purchased from the American manufacturer of lifting equipment Otis, which left the Russian market, has begun serial production of high-capacity elevators. According to the estimates of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the enterprise will be able to cover more than half of the domestic market demand for such equipment.

The new elevators have a carrying capacity of 1.2 thousand to 2 thousand kg and exceed current production standards in terms of stopping accuracy, noise and vibration levels, the press service said. Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“The new elevator complies with international standards, while the level of its localization at the moment already exceeds 70%. In addition, the new line of equipment will be able to meet at least half of the market demand for heavy-duty elevators, which was formed after the departure of foreign manufacturers,” said Mikhail Ivanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

Recall, the world’s largest elevator manufacturer Otis Elevator Company announced its withdrawal from the Russian market after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine and began to get rid of local assets. The S8 Capital holding of Armen Sargsyan acted as the buyer for them. Otis in Russia, in addition to the plant in St. Petersburg, which annually produces up to 7 thousand units of equipment, owned its own service network. According to the results of August, the St. Petersburg site under the new management increased production per 100 pieces of equipment per month.
