The President instructed to consider the construction of the North Siberian Railway

President Vladimir Putin instructed the government, together with Russian Railways, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Kemerovo Region, to consider the issue of building the North Siberian Railway. This is stated in the list of instructions of the head of state following a meeting with members of the government on August 16, published on the Kremlin website. A report on the results of consideration of the issue must be submitted to the President by March 1, 2024.
The same list includes an instruction to the government and the State Council commission in the direction of “Energy” to accelerate the formation of plans for the development of infrastructure of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways (BAM and Trans-Siberian – Eastern range of Russian Railways) for the period until 2030 and beyond. At the same time, it is necessary to consider the development of the West Siberian Railway as part of the third stage of development of the Eastern training ground, it follows from the document. A report on this assignment is expected before the end of 2023.
