The basis will be the tale of Pavel Bazhov

In the fall of 2024, in the chamber theater of the United Museum of Ural Writers in Yekaterinburg, viewers will see a performance based on the tale of the Ural classic Pavel Bazhov “Ermakov’s Swans”.

As the director of the theater Irina Evdokimova said, in the summer they will stage a play dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Pavel Petrovich Bazhov. “This is a tragic love story,” Evdokimov explained the main message of the production. Director Anton Morozov is working on the production.

Let us recall that Pavel Bazhov is a Russian and Soviet writer, folklorist, publicist, and journalist. He was born in 1879 into the family of a mining foreman; He graduated from the local zemstvo school, then the Yekaterinburg Theological School and the Perm Theological Seminary. And 15 years later, the collection “Malachite Box” was published, in which author’s works based on workers’ folklore, including the tale “Ermakov’s Swans,” were published.
